Traditional Lighthouse Tattoos

Lighthouse tattoos originate from sailors who were hoping to find their way home after their long voyage at sea. Many sailors would feel lost being far away from their loved ones and the idea of seeing a lighthouse would be a sign of land or finally being back safely home.

Lighthouse tattoos were also used as memorial tattoos for close crewmates who died at sea, it was a symbol of light and rest for those who had passed away.

Lighthouse tattoos can be designed in several different ways, the most popular style of the lighthouse is the beachy head, which is normally with red and white stripes. The reason for red and white stripes is to help the mariner identify the lighthouse if it's up against a white background, such as cliffs or rocks.

Lighthouse tattoos work nicely to fill a long space on your body such as the forearm or the calf, they can be either stand-alone or framed by rope, flowers or even sharks!

Just had my very first tattoo done by Ben and couldn't be more pleased. From the very first email to the shop they were supportive and very accommodating. I was so nervous but Ben made me feel at ease and I got the exact tattoo that I wanted. Such an enjoyable day. I'll be booking Ben again for the next ink I want done

Had a 7 hour Japanese piece done with Davide De Cinto. Service was great, Davide's work was fanastic and I feel the price was really good value for money in terms of the quality of work Davide is putting out. Highly recommended.
