Traditional Healed Tattoos
As a tattoo heals and ages it will obviously change slightly in appearance. The colours will tend to dull due to the ink settling in and with the natural ageing of the skin. As ink spreads naturally under the skin over time, lines may also widen a little.
When choosing an artist, it is well worth getting a look at their previous work when it is fully healed to give you a better idea of what you will be left with. With the rise of Instagram and various photographic filters, "fresh" shots of tattoos can be misleading and are not always representative of what you will be left with.
Keeping this in mind, it is important to follow the tattoo aftercare instructions given by your artist to ensure the tattoo looks as good as possible in the future.
